Monstrous bird

Finally, we present for inspection a depiction of a two-headed ram, such as is found on the Bembine Table. Between its two heads, this monstrous animal features two appendages—perhaps made of wool—that resemble a flickering flame, and its tail is remarkably short. These are the various monstrous figures depicted and engraved upon the tablet of Torquato Bembo. For the benefit of the public, Enea Vico of Parma published an engraving of this tablet from Bembo’s own museum in the year of our Lord 1559, dedicating it to the Emperor Caesar Ferdinand I, Perpetual Augustus, King of Germany, Pannonia, Bohemia, Dalmatia, Croatia, and Illyria, and the most excellent of princes.
