ON WHALES AND OTHER Aquatic Creatures of Immense Size
Although I have previously touched upon various whales in passing, I have nonetheless decided to formally present illustrations of several of them here, as they were not included in my *History of Fishes*. First, we have a depiction of the Hairy or Maned Whale. Olaus Magnus included a drawing of this creature in his maps, but because he offered no explanation of it, its true nature remains a matter of uncertainty.
