# XVII. A four-legged Cyprian Dove with Vetch

We have deliberately chosen to include this additional illustration to complement the previous ones, even though it differs somewhat from them due to the intensity of its colors. This was done primarily so that the Vetch plant, laden with its four seed pods, might be clearly visible; it was not possible to depict it as distinctly in the earlier image, as the layout and the space on the page at that point did not allow for it.
